Market stats
Connecticut and North Alabama, side by side
Start with the dashboard below: pick a market and see its counties side by side for the month just reported. Below that, the figures from my latest Connecticut and North Alabama briefings, each labeled with its source and reporting month, so comparisons only appear when the measurements actually line up.
The monthly numbers, county by county
Connecticut and North Alabama report different things, so each market keeps its own measures and its own source. Pick a market to see its counties.
Figures as published by each market's own source. Updated when the monthly briefing is published, not live.

What these figures mean
- Median Sale Price
- The middle price of the homes that sold: half went for more, half for less. One unusually high sale does not pull it the way an average would.
- Days on Market
- How long a home took to go under contract, counted from the day it was listed.
- % of List Received
- What the sale price came to as a share of the asking price. Above 100% means homes sold for more than they were asking.
- Months Supply
- How long the homes currently for sale would last at the recent pace of sales. Lower means less to choose from.

HAAR Fast Stats geographic reporting areas, September 2026. These areas are not single family only, so they are not comparable with the single family Monthly Indicators figures reported on the Connecticut side.

Monthly snapshot · from the briefings
The same measure in both markets
Only figures that share a measure and a data period appear here. If the reporting months or definitions do not match, I keep the figures separate.
What is being compared: Connecticut, statewide against Madison County, AL. Each figure is labeled with its own coverage area below the chart.
What each market reports on its own
The two MLSs don't publish an identical set of measures, so these sit side by side rather than head to head.
Mortgage rates
This is a national average, not a quote and not a rate available in either market. Your rate depends on your credit, loan type, and lender.
No rate has been retrieved from Freddie Mac yet, so there is nothing to show. The monthly briefings carry the rate commentary for each issue.
Where these numbers come from
- SmartMLS September 2026 Monthly Indicators, State of Connecticut, single family.
- HAAR/ValleyMLS Fast Stats, September 2026.
The monthly MLS reports are member-only, so those figures are cited rather than linked. The live county trend charts above are public and link straight through to SmartMLS. Figures are believed reliable but not guaranteed, and they describe a whole market rather than any individual property.
