Yes, I really do work in both Connecticut and Alabama
I grew up in Connecticut. Born and raised, school here, then Quinnipiac University, where I graduated with a degree in journalism.
That degree is what moved me to Huntsville after college, for a job in TV news. I definitely did not expect real estate to be where I ended up.
Once I was down there I reconnected with someone my family had known for years. He is a top agent in the Huntsville area, he grew up in Connecticut too, and he had been a lifelong friend of my dad’s. He gave me real advice and let me work alongside him before I ever had a license of my own. That is how I got started.
So Alabama came first. Once I had that license, I looked at it and thought about how many people back home in Connecticut could use someone they trust. A few months later I used the Alabama license to get a Connecticut reciprocal license, and by the end of my first year living in Alabama I was licensed in both states. Not something I ever planned.
I tell people I fell into this in the best possible way. Plenty of people spend years unsure what they want to do, and when the thing they started does not fit, they have no idea what comes next. This landed in front of me. I got lucky, and I know it.
Neither one is a side market
That is the part I most want you to understand. I am not splitting my attention and giving one state the leftovers.
Obviously I cannot be in two states at the same time, so I built a setup around that. In Connecticut I work closely with my mom, Beth Meglin, a licensed Connecticut agent. We are not a formal team in the legal sense, but we work side by side. In Alabama I have agents I trust if someone needs to be physically there while I am away. If a showing needs covering, you are getting into that house.
I am still the person you call. I still do the work. I am still involved start to finish.
How I work
The clients I do my best work with are the ones who actually want my read on things. I am not looking for anyone to take my advice as gospel. Ask me why. I like teaching, and I like explaining what is actually going on so you can make the call yourself. If you already know the fundamentals, even better, because then we skip ahead and put that to work on the parts that really matter.
What I hold myself to is not complicated. I answer my messages. I care how it turns out. I am always learning, because this business changes and an agent who stopped paying attention a few years ago is handing you advice that old. I treat this like a real business, and honestly that is most of the job.
I work with buyers, sellers, tenants, and landlords, in both states.
If you are buying, selling, renting, or just trying to figure out what your options look like, reach out. Always happy to be a resource, even if a move is years away.
